The new semester at Georgia Sate University, brings it's share of changes. Staring this year, new grants will be awarded to all eligible students, courtesy of various Atlanta organizations and business.  The Atlanta Hawks Foundation has put up $50,000 and has pledged a $2,500 scholarship per qualifying student for 5 years, as long as they maintain an GPA of a 2.8 or higher. The Coke-Cola Foundation has awarded GSU with an astounding $1.3 million dollars to be divided between the Coco-Cola First Generations Scholar Program ($1 million) and The Coco-Cola Global Ambassador Program ($300,000). But perhaps no donation is quite as generous as the one provided by The Goizueta Foundation, which has donated $4.998 million dollars to create the Latino Leadership Pipeline (LLP). This program will offer $10,000 to 100 promising Latino high school students planning on attending GSU.

Besides the new grants, another new change students can look forward to is the newly launched Honors College. The Honors College is a program that caters to high achieving students. Admission is open to incoming high school students with a GPA of a 3.8 or higher and to current and transfer students with a GPA of at least a 3.5. The Honors College offers qualifying students the ability to experience a rigorous, selective small college environment, with all the resources for internships, research, and scholarships provided by a large one. Special housing, early admission benefits, and opportunities for graduation with distinction are some of the many benefits the program offers, starting this semester.
