Senators and Executive Board members criticized the registration agreement process some students had to go through when picking classes last week.

Senators and Executive Board members agreed that there was not ample communication among the university administration and students concerning this new agreement.

"I want to find out where it came from, why we have it and more importantly, why know one knows about it," said Sen. Edward Borroni of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Senators further emphasized that the registration agreement put a hold on their accounts, which prevented students from registering for courses.

"Most importantly most students don't know its [the agreement] there, which bothers me, because its along the same lines as students being dropped at the beginning of the year," continued Sen. Borroni.

The E-Board assured the senators that proper arrangements would be made to contact the ad- ministration about creating a better line of communication with students concerning registration and better alert systems for changes concerning registration.

"[We'll] speak with the Mega One Stop Shop about a more effective way of communicating with what students needs to do, when the deadlines are, etc," said Executive Vice President Elise Laplante.

It was also noted that an email was sent out Wednesday, Oct. 26 to the entire student body about the registration agreement, but that some students registered before the email was sent out university- wide.

Shuttle for Piedmont North Residents

VP of Academic Affairs Marcus Kernizan mentioned a petition in the works concerning a shuttle for students located at the Piedmont North residence hall. Currently, the closest transit line for Piedmont North residents is panther bus meeting outside of the commons.

Kernizan emphasized that there is a direct danger for students attempting to reach the Commons shuttle. In order to reach the Commons, Piedmont North residents must cross Ellis Street, which is also a direct ramp to I-75/85 South. Often cars go whizzing by at speeds of 30 or 40 mph, according to Kernizan.

"Its only a matter of time before something happens," Kernizan said.

Petition for Mega One Stop Shop to Open Early

The petition to open the Mega One Stop Shop a week before school starts was stated to have 800 signatures currently. The petition only needs 1000 more signatures to reach its goal. The petition hopes to open the office a week before school starts to assist students, instead of opening the first week of classes.

Green Fee Committee President Dutton finished his President's Minute by suggesting a future motion to create a committee to reside over a green fee listed under student activity fees. There is currently a committee under most of the student fees, one of the exceptions being the green fee. President Dutton would like to see a committee under this fee to create an even playing field among student activity fee representation.

The next Senate SGA meeting will be held in the Sinclair Suite (Student Center) on Thursday, November 10 at 7 p.m.
