Wednesday, Feb. 3, the Spotlight Programs Board sponsored a carnival for students. The carnival’s many attractions were located at different parts of the campus and the event lasted from 12-4 p.m.
Featured at this event were inflatables, nine-hole golf, a high striker, bumper cars, games, cotton candy, and popcorn. These events were held in front of Sparks Hall, Hurt Plaza and the unity plaza. Students had to check-in to get their hand stamp and receive tickets. These tickets were valid for the food and drinks. Prizes such as stuffed bears, shirts and dice were also awarded to winners of the various games.
This was not the first carnival held by the Spotlight Programs Board, and probably won’t be the last. Jeremiah Glover, Homecoming co-director, said this year’s carnival had a good turnout and was a success.
“It’s pretty consistent, the fact that it’s something different… there are parties and dances you can go to and the fact that Spotlight does a carnival, and puts one right here on campus, it’s kind of like a wow factor…” he said.
