Adam Lambert - "Time for Miracles"
11/4/09 2:06 PM
Part of the formula of any big-budget disaster movie is the epic song attached to it. For the upcoming 2012, the song chosen to represent the movie comes from the most recent American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert.
“Time for Miracles” follows the pattern of rock ballads like “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith. Lyrically, it can be a little cheesy, but the song is saved by Lambert’s vocals, which harken back to rock vocalists from 20 or more years ago, and by the glistening production of Rob Cavallo.
Allison Iraheta - "Friday I'll Be Over U"

In the vein of “Since U Been Gone” and “U + Ur Hand,” both female-led rock tracks from producer Max Martin, comes the debut single from American Idol alum Allison Iraheta, “Friday I’ll Be Over U.”
The pop-rock production provides a superb backdrop to Iraheta’s strong vocals - vocals that normally defy the singer’s youth. The lyrics, meanwhile, pointedly address a cheating boyfriend.
Overall, the song fits in with other post-millennial pro-girl classics easily, and are promising for things to come from Iraheta.
