Revamped
Welcome to the Signal's revamped website!
Right now, we're still working through navigating our new website, so for the remainder of the semester, we acknowledge that we probably won't be working at full capacity with the new software. But we all agree that the new site is a vast improvement in the online presence for our magazine.
Probably the single biggest change is that our website no longer operates on what we call the "issue-based system." Basically, prior to our new website's launch, we were bound to all of our content being aligned with our print issues. While this worked for most of our content, it prohibited us from easily implementing breaking news stories or posting midweek.
With our new website, we'll be able to post stories 24/7. Our goal is that, by next semester, you'll be able to find campus content on a regular basis here at www.gsusignal.com.
One way you'll see web-exclusive content is via blogs. We're forming a number of blogs to host some of our content, both from The Signal and Urbanite and from our web people.
In upcoming weeks, also look for more interactive forms of content presentation, including through photo galleries and video uploads.
These are just a handful of the things we can do with our new website. We hope you continue visiting over the next few months to see what all we have in store.
Sincerely,
Elijah Sarkesian
