The Signal - Advertising

About Us

The Signal is a weekly student publication serving the Georgia State community. Founded in 1932, the paper represents the voice of the student body and its interests. While it is primarily a source of information about everything concerning Georgia State, the paper has expanded its coverage to also include metro Atlanta. The Signal prints 4,000 issues weekly during the fall and spring semesters.

Deadlines and Submission Process

ALL ad material must be submitted to the advertising staff one week before publication date. This consists of three items: the artwork for the advertisement, the contract and the payment. If any of the items are not submitted, the advertisement is not guaranteed to appear in the issue.

• Send artwork to signalads@langate.gsu.edu
• Send contract to the same email OR fax to (404) 413-1618 OR drop off in Suite 200, University Center
• Submit payment by check.

Advertisement Information

Ads are calculated using columns by inches. The maximum size of an ad is a full page ad, 5 columns by 14 inches. The Signal does not split columns. Below are our common ad sizes.

Full page – 5C (10.375″) x 14"
Half page – 5C (10.375″) x 7"
Quarter page – 3C (6.15″) x 7"
Sixth page - 2C (4.05″) x 7"

The Signal does not create ad artwork.

Ad rate sheets and contracts are available for download in the right-hand column of this page. Note that there are different ad rate sheets and contracts for Georgia State departments and student organizations.

Classifieds/Online Advertising

The Signal currently does not offer classified advertising. We are looking into launching online advertising during Spring 2011. Check with our Advertising Coordinator at signalads@langate.gsu.edu for any updated information.
